INTERVIEWING:

Camera, Tape, Tripod!! tri-pods are my friend, Microphone (Don't give interviewee microphone) hang loose, Headphones (make sure mic works), Power Source: AC adaptar or battery, Light Source: Camera light, floor light, natural light (never ever shoot into a window), shooting into a light source causes a SILHOUETTE or a poorly lit shot

• On what object should you focus the camera?
• No tripod=BAD
• Date and Time= never!
• SP/EP: SP=Standard play (always shoot in SP), EP=Extended play

CAMERA SHOTS:
***BACKGROUND: DYNAMIC= Has some depth, not plain
-Interviewee is at least 6-8 feet from a wall
-Interviewee is the shot, not a poster.
• Interview Shot= 2 Eyes and 1 Ear
1 Shot= middle of chest to right above the head
• 1 Shot with graphic= middle of chest to right above head but over a little so graphic can fit
• 2 Shot= only during show and there are conversations between the two
• Establishing Shot
• CU- close up
• MS- medium shot
• LS- long shot
• ECU- extreme closeup
• Wide-Medium-Tight
• Rule of thirds- eyes should be on top line, helps frame in face
• Shoot Matched Action
• Get Sequences
CAMERA MOVEMENTS: must be for a purpose/reason
